ActiveCare Automated Tasks
Under ActiveCare on the navigation bar, click Automated Tasks.
ActiveCare's Automated Tasks monitors your PC's performance and then automatically runs any needed repairs on-the-spot.
Automated analysis. System Mechanic analyzes your computer behind the scenes, while it is idle. This allows for background monitoring of your PC's health and security, without interfering with resources as you work.
Automated repairs. If during the analysis,
a problem that you designated for automatic fixes is detected, System
Mechanic will automatically run the repair.
For example: You can have ActiveCare automatically defragment your computer's memory when it detects that the system memory falls too low.
The Automated Tasks pane gives you complete control over what automated tasks are run (Tasks Performed Automatically) and whether you receive ActiveCare status reports (ActiveCare Email Reports).
System Mechanic can send you status reports about ActiveCare activity, including recently repaired problems and recommended optimizations. If you have elected to:
Receive these reports, an Enabled status message will display, along with your email address.
Not receive these reports, a Disabled status message will display.
To turn the receipt of reports on or off, or to change your email address, click Configure. The ActiveCare tab of the Options window will open, allowing you to change settings.
Click the toggle button next to a task to Enable or Disable the automated repair. The following tasks can be automated:
Automatically clean up excessive system clutter |
With regular usage, temporary files and other unneeded debris accumulate. It is recommended that excessive amounts of system clutter be deleted to reclaim disk space and speed overall processing. |
Automatically repair spyware infections |
Installed without your knowledge, spyware can reveal your Internet activity and waste system resources. Removing spyware protects your privacy and reclaims valuable memory. |
Automatically repair registry problems |
Over time, the Windows registry can become corrupt, leading to degraded performance and system crashes. Removing obsolete and invalid entries improves overall PC efficiency and stability. |
Automatically optimize startup configuration |
Various programs and services load when Windows starts. Eliminating startup items that are unneeded or potentially dangerous boosts overall PC speed and reclaims valuable memory. |
Automatically repair hard drive errors |
A damaged hard drive can prevent files from being accessed or saved and can cause system crashes. Repairing hard drive errors protects your data and improves overall PC stability. |
Automatically repair security vulnerabilities |
Viruses and other malicious programs exploit known security vulnerabilities in operating systems and Web browsers. Repairing security flaws protects your computer and your data. |
Automatically repair unoptimized Internet configuration |
The Optimize Internet Settings/Net Booster tool optimizes various settings to suit your type of Internet connection. Adapting these settings boosts Web download rates and improves overall Internet speed and stability. |
Automatically repair drive fragmentation problems |
When a drive becomes highly fragmented, files take longer to open and PC performance declines. Defragmenting reorganizes scattered data, which boosts file access speed and increases drive efficiency. |
Automatically repair low memory problems |
When available memory is too low, overall PC performance declines. Defragmenting reclaims valuable memory and improves PC efficiency, stability, and speed. |
Automatically repair broken shortcuts |
Broken shortcuts occur when the target files have been moved or deleted. Repairing these shortcuts speeds processing and eliminates unexpected errors. |
Automatically back up registry every 14 days |
The Windows registry is vital to your computer’s ability to run correctly. Backups allow you to restore the registry if it ever becomes damaged. It is recommended that you back up the registry every 14 days. |
Automatically compact registry every 14 days |
Compacting the Windows registry reorganizes entries, which improves the efficiency and speed of vital registry processing. It is recommended that you compact the registry every 14 days. |
